With Love,

Transcript:

Hello friends!

Welcome to this month’s editor’s note. Happy April, happy Spring and hopefully calling in the weather gods for some extra sunshine this month.

Okay, I am currently sitting in my living room, mic in my hand, laptop in front of me, feeling sooooo nervous and I don’t even know why. If I had to guess I think it’s because what I’m about to tell you has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember and now that it is manifesting into reality I’m feeling all the feelings.

So, after officially getting the greenlight, I can now tell all of you… that…Ahhh…

I’m writing a cookbook!

I can’t even believe it! It’s so surreal. I want to cry!

In less than a week, I’m headed, with a one-way ticket to the countryside of Puerto Rico where I’ll be reunited with my maternal grandmother, grandfather, aunt, and extended family members as a heartfelt ode to my mom who taught me my love language, cooking.

The cookbook will be equal parts memoir and cookbook.

I’m off to recipe-develop those amazing Puerto Rican dishes that remind me of home…

The ones I lost with my mom’s passing.

The ones I took for granted because I thought I’d always have her a phone call away.

I want to learn more intimately about my mom through the eyes of those who loved her and knew her best. How was she as a kid? Did she always love to cook? Who was my mother beyond the wonderful being I so loved and cherished?

I’m going to ask plenty of questions, listen intently and as many of my closest friends have so beautifully put it, I’m going on my own “Eat, Pray, Love” journey. It’s going to be an emotional one that I can’t wait to share with all of you. So, get ready for the highs and lows, the laughter and tears, and everything in between. A journey through my own grief.

This is just the beginning and I know there’s a long way to go, but I couldn’t be more thrilled. Thank you for manifesting this with me, by the way. I know so many of you sent me DMs, emails, and comments throughout the years calling this one into the universe well before I could see it, myself.

And boy, is it real. So, yes. This woman right here is writing a cookbook!

Oh my gosh, I think every time I say it, it just gives me …literally..so much emotion.

Thank you for listening and we’ll chat again, but next time from the countryside of Puerto Rico.
