Ingredients:
- 1 lb. ground turkey
- 8 organic corn tortillas
- 1 ripe avocado, sliced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1/4 white onion, finely diced
- Fresh cilantro leaves, chopped
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Mild green chilies, diced (adjust according to your preference)
- Olive oil for cooking
- Green goddess dressing (This is the one I buy)
- 1 lime, cut into wedges (for garnish, optional)
Method:
Prepare the toppings. Slice the avocado, chop the green onions, white onion, and cilantro. Set aside.
Season ground turkey. Begin by heating a tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground turkey to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Season with cumin, garlic powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper to taste. Add diced mild green chilies to the skillet and cook with the turkey until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
Next, char the tortillas by placing each tortilla directly over the flame of a gas burner using tongs. Cook for about 15-20 seconds on each side until lightly charred. Be careful not to burn them. Alternatively, you can warm the tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side.
Lastly, assemble the tacos by placing a spoonful of seasoned ground turkey onto each charred tortilla. Top with sliced avocado, chopped green onions, diced white onion, and cilantro. Drizzle with green goddess dressing. Squeeze lime over the top, if desired.
